Citizens fed up, ONE leader apologized

As many may know Supreme Council members decided to vote for a lottery bill, created by Co-authors, Erich Dunkel and Nate Webster. The lottery bill issued that citizens who have more than enough money could choose to donate their own money into the lottery, then the Karma Points will be distributed among people who have 50% of their Karma requirements or more. Obviously this brought up some serious problems. The lottery idea has been there throughout P-Ville’s history. Last year in fact a bill that resembled ours was written and passed. What ensued was laziness and near bankruptcy. Sure enough the day after the Supreme Council meeting on Thursday January 18, stocks free falled and became half of what they were. The stocks read, well meaning SC ignore past history.

During the discussion of the bill and stocks in period 3, a citizen Destiny Garcia, spoke against the DOD Delilah. Destiny voiced the fact that the SC failed to do their job by not researching the history of lottery bills within P Ville. To which the DOD of period three made a comment on how period 4 was the one that wrote the bill, and period three had little to do with it. Despite the fact that Erich Dunkle on Tuesday publicly in class endorsed the bill wholeheartedly and mentioned he was one of the authors. Added to the fact the Period 3’s Supreme Council voted 5 yay and 1 nay. Furthermore during the SC meeting period three was involved in the discussion of the bill multiple times and endorsed it then too. Garcia feels as if the comment she got in response to the the criticism was “not a good one.” When I asked how she thought the leaders handled their mistake Destiny replied saying “ I think it’s wrong and childish. We all saw Erich [Dunkel] and Danny [Daniel Lewis] advocate the bill and Erich was the co sponsor so it feels very much like a lie. I think the leadership is currently focused on covering the fact that they messed up since they keep blaming someone else and refusing to admit they made a mistake like they should be [doing].” The refusing to admit stemming from the fact that the Co-Author of the bill Erich Dunkel kept to his idea that it “was a step in the right direction… we are trying to help you guys [citizens].”

Period 4 citizens have also spoken out against their DOD, as the uncertain waters of near bankruptcy rock P-Ville, there seems to be a mistrust and lack of confidence with leaders. Elections will be held next week, we could only hope that we do enough to get out of these troubled times.

One of the things Leadership have been doing, is buying and pulling out their Economic and Universal dices, in the unfortunate event of bankruptcy throughout all the periods. An emergency SC meeting was held where the bill got revoked, Leadership are looking for ways to fix the bill and submit it again to the Council.

On another note period three’s DOD had made an official statement to PNN apologizing, “ I know what I said was wrong and I shouldn’t have said anything about P4. As leader I should have done further research but I didn’t. And I accept my mistake and in the future I won’t do it again. People learn from mistakes and I for sure learned from mine.” Yet no words from the bill authors nor any other leaders who voted for the bill.
